Quarenta Dias

Alice had a calm life in João Pessoa until Norinha insisted she relocate to the far south, and living near her daughter only makes things worse between them. Word comes that Cícero Araújo, whose mother is from Alice's part of the country and who went south for work, has vanished. Alice goes looking for him through the city's poor fringes and does not come back to the flat Norinha found her for more than a month, wandering a place she does not know and meeting people nobody sees.
