Two protagonists born in the 1980s, Li Jiaqi and Cheng Gong, look back at what their grandparents and parents did to each other. A brutal crime is slowly pieced together, and with it the lives and inner wounds of three generations. One carries guilt, the other wants to settle the score; both are marked by an inherited trauma and keep their distance from history and from everyone around them.
