Opisanie Świata

A letter dictated from an Amazon hospital tells Opalka that he has a grown son, Natanael, who is ill and wants to see him, and who promises his father will recognise him by the likeness. So, with war approaching, Opalka sets off by rail and by sea, falling in on board with Bopp, a flamboyant vagabond, amid equator ceremonies and odd passengers. The trip is pieced together from narration, letters, diary entries and a sequence of pictures and souvenirs.
