A love story about an initiation into love as a false attempt to save the soul, in which death becomes a pretext for learning love’s lesson: losing those we love pushes us to live more passionately, to fill the void and put off our own suffering and end. It is also the story of the existential failure of a Romanian family held together not by love but by the suffering of a hopeless illness, and of a society ravaged by lies and corruption, eaten away by a cancer people accept with resignation, until no one knows any more who the patient is: the person or the society.
