Krister Larsen, an electrician with pride in his trade and a bad back, is sent to teach Norwegian to adult immigrants, drilling them in labour law one day and fishing for undeclared workers among them the next. He knows better but is never proved right, understands the system but never gets the upper hand, in a story of love, anger management and cash-in-hand work.
