Once a year a father who abandoned his family long ago flies back to Sweden from abroad and moves into the small flat his son keeps as an office. The son is approaching forty and on paternity leave, drowning in diapers, daycare drop-offs, groceries and broken nights, and he wants to stop acting as his father's personal assistant, bank and landlord. His sister has her own scars from their parents' divorce. Each member of the family takes a turn telling the story, down to a baby too young to speak, as the old arrangement between father and son is put to the test.
