Dröm, baby, dröm

The speaker cannot leave grief behind and keeps asking what lies at its root: other people's deaths, or her own failure to live? The cruelty of the world, a childhood, a parent, a love that could never be? Should she see a therapist? Borrowing from Greek tragedy, psychological questionnaires and the wreck of the Swedish welfare dream, the poems work with love, death and yearning, with words, skies, animals and a childhood that never ends, in an angry lament that also makes room for bitterness and vengeance.
