Aimoré, born in Coimbra in 1980, comes to Brazil as a boy and discovers painting at an uncle's home in Lajes. With a sharp, patient eye he learns to copy any picture exactly, line for line and colour for colour. After art school back in Portugal he returns to Brazil, settles in Rio and becomes a literature teacher in Nova Iguaçu, on the city's outskirts, while leading a second life as a skilled forger.
