In the heart of Norway a boat leaves the shore, followed only by gulls. Nils Vik has spent his life ferrying people across the fjord and home again, in storm and calm. Today he sets out on his last journey. A meditation on a life and a landscape, and on a man who has loved only one woman and loves her still.
