O Caso da Chácara Chão

Seeking peace far from the city, Alfredo Manfredi, back from political exile and now an author of youth fiction, settles on a small farm with his wife Olga. During Carnival two armed intruders turn up; he injures one and drives them off. Then, in custody, the pair tell the police that Olga asked them there, that she sleeps with one of them, and that Alfredo tried to kill them. Suddenly cast as the jealous husband, he cannot tell who is lying, while crooked policing, red tape, lurid newspapers and prejudice close in on him.
