A Tradutora

Beatriz, thirty-something, spends three crowded days at home in Curitiba. The novel she is translating, by the flamboyant Catalan Felip T. Xaveste, keeps raising doubts about her craft and her future; someone has slid a blank envelope under her door; her novelist boyfriend lectures and needles her on the phone; and a call offers her work as an interpreter for a football bureaucrat preparing Brazil's World Cup. Her memories mix with each new event, told with light, wry humour.
