Black Rock White City

In Melbourne, Jovan, once a poet and teacher in Yugoslavia, mops floors at a hospital by the bay, and his wife Suzana cleans the houses of comfortable families in Black Rock. They escaped Sarajevo during the war, where they lost their children and their former standing, and sorrow has come between them. During one sweltering summer, words are scrawled on the hospital's walls, and each new act of vandalism is more sinister than the last. A psychologist is hired to find whoever is responsible, and Jovan, who must erase the messages, starts to believe they are addressed to him, as they bring back the life he left behind.
