Tersesat Setelah Terlahir Kembali

In the matrilineal Minangkabau lands of inland Sumatra, a man who has married into a local family remains an outsider and is expected to join the men's tradition of hunting wild boar. The hunt draws him into obsession and madness, into situations he has never known, into myths the villagers hold sacred, and towards a massacre in the past. Struggling with culture shock and his failure to fit in, he also tries to work out what love really means. He tells the story himself, out of order like a puzzle, and cannot always be trusted, and it touches on mental health, sexual orientation, violence and what being a man means in a matrilineal culture.
