In seven exuberant chapters these poems vary the love poem, in monologue, speech and reply, and sketch a gaudy panorama of forms of desire today. Between Cyprus, Persia, Pompeii and an ever-questioned homeland, archaic images of nature meet pop culture, traditional rhythms meet rough beats. Phone messages, the metaverse, particles of AI and screenshots mix with views of unprotected bodies, while real and virtual life flow into each other and the present darkens with political and climate crises. Eavan Boland, Dylan Thomas, Walt Whitman and Travis Scott appear as featured partners.
