Friday, 22 May 2032. The day after his ninety-fourth birthday, a man sits in a lush, flowering garden, the paradise garden of his childhood, with a recorder beside him, and speaks his story onto tape for his granddaughter Anni: the story of Mr Adamson. He met him as a boy, and learned that Adamson had died at the very moment he himself was born, and that he would one day come back to take him into the realm of the dead. A story about life and death that, for all its grief, is never bleak.
