Eventide

Newly single after many years with the same partner, Karolina holds a chair at Stockholm University and handles academic politics on her own. Then she is assigned a doctoral candidate whose assurance takes her aback: he believes he has uncovered a female painter from around 1900 whose work will force a revision of how Swedish art history is told. Before long Karolina is caught up in something more complicated than it looks, professionally and personally. Under the scholarly surface of her world lie physical attraction, rivalry, ennui and treachery, and the thrill and dread of what her choices might lead to.
