Sara K. runs a branch of Jerusalem's city library, and none of the people she knows suspects that at night she is a gifted illustrator of children's books, signing her pictures "Iman", the name of a friend her Iraqi-born aunt lost long ago. The aunt adopted Sara as a newborn and brought her up as a prodigy; since her death Sara has lived alone in the basement flat she left her, content with work, drawing and a solitude that has always suited her. Then she resolves to write a children's book of her own, without knowing what she is really after or what it will reveal about the real Iman, her aunt and herself.
