Sekstant

Three linked novellas by three authors follow three people in their thirties in Prekmurje who cannot grow up and keep trying to escape the narrowness around them, by leaving and coming back, or by fleeing into fantasy. Valentin, launched as a writer by sonnets to a much younger woman, discovers on his wedding night that his wife has a stormy past and takes his revenge in writing. Halka and Erik have their own escapes, Erik troubled by voices inside him. The stories run side by side and cross in the Salon, a bar in the centre of Murska Sobota, where a literary evening follows Slovenia's World Cup qualifying match on 14 November 2001.
