Satansviskningar

Girls are sent to the desert school for small acts of defiance: Nadine for hiding in a cupboard, another for breaking her uncle's machinery, a third for shaving her head. The Headmistress believes isolation will let her rebuild them and warns that the end of days is near, so they must change fast. Nadine, though, can see only her own wrongdoing, as if Satan were whispering doubts to her. At night the girls slip out to the thistle-covered hills, searching for something that might help. Then word comes that Assam Lo, the underground artist they worship, has died, and the whole school is shaken. Dust is rising, a storm may be coming, and rebellion is already stirring.
