Over the four seasons of his sixteenth year, Hoshizaki, an unremarkable boy with no ambitions and no urge to rebel, copies a dance from an online clip in a park after dark. He has no wish to be watched or admired; moving his body is how he works through the things about home he cannot say. Soon a friend practises with him, while Tsukumo, a friend from primary school who has made his home on the riverbank, says he will soon be a father.
