Hatsu has just started high school and cannot fit in anywhere. Left out of a group in science class, she notices that Ninagawa, another misfit, is reading a women's fashion magazine and staring at the model Oli-chan, whom Hatsu once met in a shop in the next town. When she mentions it, Ninagawa invites her to his room, and she discovers the depth of his fandom. The feeling his hunched, defenceless back stirs in her is rougher than affection and stronger than the urge to tease, and she wants to kick it.
