Three stories of what love lays bare. In the title story, a young woman's quiet life with her partner is shaken when a petty quarrel brings out his violence, yet, drawn to each other's darkness, they cling to a faint hope. The others: a woman's yearning for her opposite and her sudden hatred, and a hesitant new romance.
