When a prominent businessman kills himself live on television, the authorities see nothing to investigate. Only Inspector Kostas Charitos, off work and bored, has doubts. As more public suicides follow, official indifference turns to panic, and Charitos learns that while he is away colleagues are plotting to take his post at the homicide squad. Now he has a job to save as well as a puzzle to solve, one buried deep in recent Greek political history.
