To live one's own life again: should one wish for that? In Stockholm, Christoph, a writer who has stopped writing, arranges to meet the much younger actress Lena, a stranger to him, and they walk through the Woodland Cemetery. He tells her that twenty years ago he loved a woman who resembled her, was in fact just like her: Magdalena. He knows the life Lena leads and what awaits her. So begins a game between past and present from which no one will emerge unscathed. Can we escape our fate, or must we resign ourselves to the world's indifference?
