Arsim is married, but when he meets Miloš, a medical student in Pristina, he drops everything to follow him. Their passionate affair lasts until war forces Arsim and his family into exile. Years later Arsim returns alone to war-ravaged Pristina, and a desperate search begins: what happened to Miloš, and to the two of them? The novel is also a merciless portrait of a marriage and of a man caught in the machinery of the law.
