As a schoolboy Mevlut Karataş comes from Beyşehir to Istanbul and walks the streets beside his father, selling yoghurt and boza. Between 1969 and 2012 he tries his hand at ice cream, rice, a car park and much else, yet still roams the poor neighbourhoods at night calling out 'Boza!'. His marriage to Rayiha, which follows a deception over the girl he spent three years writing to, sets off a long questioning of love, happiness and choice. Many voices tell of a city that keeps changing around him, while he keeps to himself the strangeness he feels inside.
