A support worker opens the door of his Montreal respite centre for drug users, with its shrill doorbell, bulletproof window, lasagna, tears and wild hopes. Through lives marked by the street, drugs and abandonment, these stories follow people larger than life who stayed for a day or two, and in whom he often recognized himself.
