Early in 1977 the police send Ferroni to a village in Jujuy that most of the men have left for the city. He wants the wife of a supposed guerrilla, Matilde Trigo, and his one clue is a letter she sent to her friend Marita Valdivieso. Marita won't give him the letters, and as he presses her, a chorus of villagers' voices brings up buried memories under the shadow of political persecution.
