Wiara. Autobiografia

The lace for his mother's wedding dress came from East Germany; years later the son wore the dress to a gay club, and it was never seen again. The dress and its two lives hold the essence of this first volume of an autobiography, full of things that no longer exist. Smells, sounds and images of a childhood in communist Poland bring back a boy who believed in magic, in God and in anything he could, whose world centred on a huge tree in the yard and ended at the Roma barracks that were regularly set on fire. A brutal sexual initiation in 1990 closed that world.
