Écris, tu seras aimé des dieux

Long ago, the narrator recalls, children were murdered to calm the anger of the gods. Having no child, he has only his words to give, charred phrases whose smoke he hopes will reach the heavens. Built on the urge to write as much as possible, as a sacrifice that might win the favour of chance and justice, the book follows a disillusioned alter ego of its author, dark and existentialist in tone and sharpened by corrosive humour, and ends in short poetic and philosophical texts.
