Pietro is reading Gogol's 'The Overcoat' when strange thoughts and temptations start to distract him. Nothing has happened, he tells himself, it is all in his head. But the restlessness and vertigo that shake his daily life grow faster and faster, and begin to show in what he does, as compassion for the most defenceless turns into something darker.
