At 3.37 in the morning the phone wakes the hero, and a night-time conversation with his mother stirs up the surface of his memories. It takes him back to his adolescence in Přerov in Moravia, to the experiences of a young queer boy growing up in a conservative industrial town, in a family where money is always short, in surroundings that punish difference. He literally takes his memory apart, as one studies old photographs for small details that often reveal more than what is plain at first sight. He tells of his mother, his father and his grandfather, of bullying, alcoholism and coming to terms with his sexual orientation, dismantling not only his own memories but a kind of collective memory of the whole family.
