The opening poem announces the poet's 'reactivation', and the book is about coming back from a long journey through a past of disintegration, decay and non-being, to scare those who were glad he was gone and to demand the costs, which were enormous. He no longer lives where he lived nor with whom; the old autobiographies are over, and he has not yet earned new ones. Memories return: days spent buying records, bottles of Jack Daniel's and discounted black T-shirts. Aphorisms, word games, songs and longer poems mix in the collection.
