Timotej Vrák, around forty, divorced father of one daughter, is a chorus dubbing actor who has long stopped dreaming of great roles and is glad to get a few minor parts in telenovelas and action films. His days are all alike: his colleagues do not respect him, nor do his ex-wife and daughter, and in his fantasies he is an admired star of dubbing. A glimmer of hope comes with young, beautiful Maja Nôcková, the only one to praise his years of work, who even gives him her number. Short chapters introduce the other figures of the dubbing studios, a comic philanderer, an ageing beauty and a swan on Štrkovec Lake with whom Timo holds absurd conversations, and then Timo gets the chance to work for an American production.
