“Otherworlds: Stories of Not Passing Away” (title translated by AI)

Stories that seem unconnected span several hundred years, from the Thirty Years' War to the recent pandemic. Their common thread is roots, and their common place is a piece of land where the Oder, flowing north, turns to the west, a place that keeps its own time. The world they describe is that of wine and winemaking, which the communists nearly managed to throw away. Even a voyage to Australia becomes a journey back in time.
