Since her escape from the GDR, Soja has lived in West Berlin, selling flowers. One day she runs into Harry from Neukölln, and he immediately becomes the axis her life turns on. Harry has spent ten years in prison and is out on probation; he is a junkie and HIV-positive, he has broken off his drug therapy, and another prison term looms. Soja finds him a place in therapy, enlists her friends to look after him and ignores every sign that Harry is keeping things from her. The sad and comic story of a mad love between an East German woman and a West German man, and of Berlin.
