Nattsäsong

An established actress is rehearsing a role decades younger than herself, the rejected girl in the drama behind Madama Butterfly. The theatre has become unrecognisable: there are whispers of war, the capital lies under a shadow, and nerves fray. Then a young man contacts her, son of the famous director who first made her name, and she is swept into a sudden, consuming passion. What does he want from her? In a time when nothing feels secure, the line between dreaming and waking, longing and dread grows faint.
