An old man sets out for the city of his birth to visit his mother's grave. On the way he travels deep into memory, through tales, myths and self-examination, and a whole existence rises around him, woven of defeats and victories, of choices made and given up, of maybes and if-onlys, in a novel of atmosphere spread over a long stretch of time.
