Ingrid Rosenfeld

A beautiful young teacher of Slovene with wide interests, Ingrid Rosenfeld loves books above all and ignores the men who court her until her late twenties. Then she keeps ending up with older, violent men, which she puts down to growing up without a father. Her restless loves are balanced by calm talks with her mother, who raised eight children and accepted whatever life brought.
