Riva is a high-rise jumper, a model athlete of a new world: a perfectly functioning person with millions of fans who hold their breath when she leaps. Then, from one day to the next, she refuses to train. Cameras are everywhere in her world, but she does not know that she is being watched in particular: Hitomi, another young woman, an economic psychologist, is to make Riva compliant again. If Hitomi fails, she faces expulsion to the peripheries, where people live in dirt with no way to serve society. What makes a person human when they function perfectly?
