Rouyn, 1932. A young journalist at the Rouyn-Noranda Press, the newspaper of the mine owners, hears Jeanne Corbin, a convinced and convincing Marxist, addressing the workers in the Ukrainian Labour Temple and trying to lead them into a strike. From then on nothing is ever the same for him, nor for his wife and their three daughters, who all live the same sublime adventure. It falls to Jeanne, the youngest daughter, named after her, to tell the singular and tragic fate of her father. For him, Red Jeanne takes on the stature of a biblical figure: infinitely beautiful, and out of reach.
