The novel fits twenty-four hours in the lives of two people into one sentence. She and he, both twenty-eight, set off after a morning swim and a big breakfast on Ada Bojana and drive west along the Montenegrin coast to Kotor, then return over Lovćen and Cetinje to Podgorica, where they were born. Nothing spectacular happens, but at the bus station in Budva they witness a brutal scene in which a driver kicks an old woman off a bus while everyone looks away, and guilt starts to follow them.
