Mei Salon

Sixteen stories about how people relate to one another and to the places they live in, and about the urge to rule over others that grows out of those ties. They ask how often we look away from something bad because it is not happening to us. Their small events range widely, and some are told from the viewpoint of characters who are not human, taking in aimless stretches of life, concern for one's neighbours that cuts into personal freedom, and the strain this puts on the mind.
