Вілла Анемона

Ruta Makovii, a Ukrainian woman in Switzerland, takes a job at a home for old people, hoping to earn enough to fulfil the dream for which she left her country and family: a flat where her little daughter can grow up. She thought she could endure any hardship and accept any work, but she finds herself unwittingly complicit in something she sees as a crime, while for her Swiss colleagues it has long been routine: patients brought to the home die within a few days. Different worldviews collide, and Ruta has to ask what dignity is and where the boundaries of freedom lie. In that house of sorrow she also unexpectedly finds love, with a man who has little time left.
