Mister Piccolo, writer and journalist, is offered the chance to see much of the world with eight colleagues, and sets off wide-eyed. From his first business-class flight to Sri Lanka he learns that privilege will be the only place that matters throughout his odyssey: it makes all places alike, erases geographical distance, widens social distance, and creates paradises only to destroy them.
