After thirty years of relentless work in Germany, Hüseyin, one of the first generation of 'guest workers', finally fulfils his dream: a flat of his own in Istanbul. On the day he moves in, he dies of a heart attack. His family travels from Germany for the funeral, and his death brings the partly estranged relatives together in the flat, with their fears, hopes and despair. Six very different people, who happen to be related, each tell their side and give away their secrets, and across the generations they share one feeling: of having no home.
