The world is coming to an end. Until it does, the narrator works at the content farm Smile Smile Inc., where she specialises in meaningless list articles designed to generate clicks (Number 7 will make you cry!). They are as pointless as the memes and YouTube videos her colleagues produce, young women in a post-ironic mood who still try to do their jobs well, and as the start-ups her boyfriend Jonas founds every week while the city burns. Her career, like her life, takes many turns. Then a double of the narrator appears, and holes open in the street into which people fall.
