Mina Among the Shadows

Kerim Neto has come back to his native city on the Atlantic, caught between the bite of the sun and the virulent sermons of improvised preachers, apostles and prophets. He has returned to search for Mina, his model, eternal lover and muse, who has disappeared. Retracing their old routes in the hope of finding her around a corner, he questions the friends with whom they once did theatre and taunted the army of puppet dictators; today they are imams or police informers. Will Mina be hidden behind a veil, singing of the risen Christ, or marked by torture? This Africa is one where, as in the West, power has passed to dark forces and religions compete to convert the population.
