Amanda catches one of the last trains home to the village near Pescara she once fled for Milan. Her mother Lucia sees at once that something in her has gone out: she shuts herself in her room and hardly speaks. Lucia would like to shelter her from everything, but she carries a secret of her own. Thirty years ago, on the night when three girls vanished from a campsite beneath the mountain called the Wolf's Tooth, she was saved by chance; shepherds, campers, hunters and carabinieri were all there. Now the land below the Wolf's Tooth belongs to her family, and the past returns as she watches her daughter's silence.
