A man living in a temporary flat after his separation drops his young son at school, sees the boy has no mittens, buys some and sets out to deliver them. The short trip grows into a long one. Around Odenplan he passes smart, freshly wealthy streets that must still make room for broken lives, while above and beneath the pavement a cold drive for order rules. His own guilt resurfaces, memories of Central Europe invade a mind that is falling apart, and the sights and odours of Stockholm become overpowering. Meanwhile, what those mittens are worth keeps changing.
